What is the significance of the objects and characters?
There is a Maori girl/woman looking at the observer , and holding the extinct bird { huia }. She looks pretty serious and very determined. She is possibly urging the viewer to sign to perhaps save Nz forest or native species so that no more species / birds are gonna become extinct
What is the significance of the colours used?
The most common colour is Orange and probably has a specific reason as to why it is the most common , perhaps a warning. Blue is also on the street art and is said to be the colour of peace , Green is another colour that is based on the art , green is on her head making a headband out of leaves or perhaps nature with the leaves on the side! With her hair being black with blue/green strokes across!
The location of the art work and why it is important?
This street art is roughly located on Allen street , Christchurch {CBCD}. I felt like the reason for this artwork was to tell people to help the native birds to make them not become extinct , to help the native and natural species and birds out there and to help them become animals or species and to live life without any interruptions! The artist also spoke out that - “It’s a warning, message and lesson to be learned that these beautiful birds have become extinct due to our carelessness and our greed.”

Great effort Avei. This is a very perceptive DLO - well done. Your analysis is very good and made more powerful by the fact that you quoted the artist's actual words. One of the ways to improve DLO's (digital learning objects), is to amplify your message using colour - I know you used dominant colours in your Slideshow DLO. Colours of text in a blog - how could that be achieved? Would some sort of audio file improve this DLO so it is more multi-media? How do we embed an audio interview with the artist talking about his/her work? Avei, we are just scratching the surface of DLO's at the moment. There's a lot more we can learn about DLO.
