Scratch!

- In this one there is heaps and heaps of beautiful circles that are formed on top of each other , and they also are made from code isn't that amazing! We were told to remix it so that they can form perfect and pretty circles. This project was not as hard as i thought it would be , just a wee muck around trying to find out how to make the circles. I remixed it and ended up making heaps of circles but on top of each other!

- This is my favourite one because it was fun to keep on making circles on each other!

Christchurch- Street art!

 https://www.teaomaori.news/miss-universe-nz-features-giant-maori-mural

What is the significance of the objects and characters?

There is a Maori girl/woman looking at the observer , and holding the extinct bird { huia }. She looks pretty serious and very determined. She is possibly urging the viewer to sign to perhaps save Nz forest or native species so that no more species / birds are gonna become extinct

What is the significance of the colours used?

The most common colour is Orange and probably has a specific reason as to why it is the most common , perhaps a warning. Blue is also on the street art and is said to be the colour of peace , Green is another colour that is based on the art , green is on her head making a headband out of leaves or perhaps nature with the leaves on the side!  With her hair being black with blue/green strokes across!

The location of the art work and why it is important?

This street art is roughly located on Allen street , Christchurch {CBCD}. I felt like the reason for this artwork was to tell people to help the native birds to make them not become extinct , to help the native and natural species and birds out there and to help them become animals or species and to live life without any interruptions! The artist also spoke out that - “It’s a warning, message and lesson to be learned that these beautiful birds have become extinct due to our carelessness and our greed.”

Flamingo-BOB!

Flamingo's                      - My birds name is BOB!

- Why did you choose this bird?

- I love the colour of this bird , it looks so
beautiful
and has a massive beak that's not that usual to all the other birds , to me it is different and looks so  pretty because of it's pink / orange colour!
- What countries are your bird found in?

-Chilean, Andean and James' flamingos live in South America, and the greater and lesser flamingos live in Africa. Greater flamingos can also be found in the Middle East and India. Flamingos are water birds, so they live in and around lagoons or lakes. These bodies of water tend to be saline or alkaline.

- Is your bird smart/Has hidden talents?

 - Flamingos often stand on one leg to preserve body heat, tucking the other leg into their plumage so it is kept warm. If flamingos are highly intelligent animals, they are even more unlikely to have flocked into the shape f a large flamingo because it would be a useless thing to do and animal intelligence tends toward the utilitarian.

- How does this bird represent you / and why is it a good bird?

- This bird sadly does not represent me , but i just like how the Flamingo has a different sense of colour unlike all the other birds that have a certain colour! Also a flamingo's colour is based on what they eat , the more that they eat the more they turn into the colour pink!

-How many more of these birds are estimated to still be alive?

Estimated total population is not more than 200,000 individuals, and the population is in a decline , But there is still a heap of them in different sort of countries and are hopefully safe and sound , leaping around the lakes with happiness!
